Scrimmage vs. Cougars

A few of the Flames combined with the girls Lady Patriots team to play the Cougars out Pennsauken. It was a fun game, especially since more than half of our team was composed of newbies. Our goalie was playing in her first real game, and some of the others had only been on the ice for six weeks or so. They did really well, especially the goalie. She wasn't afraid to meet the skater with the puck and she had a good sense of her crease. Her only weakness would be her stick because three or four of the goals scored on her were from her lifting her stick off the ice instead of keeping down to block the shot. She'll be really good once she figures that out. We lost 5-3, but it was a real fun skate and a nice way to go into the holiday week.
