Labatts was fun as always, but the refs were sketchy at best. Many players on our team spent the majority of the tourney getting chopped, hit from behind, and slammed into the boards. Icing...maybe for the other team. Dena had reached the point where she nailed a chick with her stick for whacking her after the whistle.
I don't think we did all that bad for being a team thrown together at the last minute. We had Hawks, Demons, Freeze, and Flames players and except for our games against the Wicked we played pretty well together. For some reason when we played the Wicked, we clogged up near one another and skated down to their level. We should have beat them, but didn't.
The best part was the second place prize was really cool. They got the hockey bags like we did last year and we got mini golf chairs with a built in cooler, plate, utensils, and plastic wine glass.
I had a ton of fun as always. Cursing a million times to entertain the Demon girls was a bonus. They aren't allowed to curse in their locker room. Sucks to be them! :)
I'm hoping to be able to do more tourneys this summer. Time and money will tell.
